It’s Kitchen Week Reveals this Sunday!

Kitchen Week on The Block arrived! The biggest – and most anticipated- and we are so excited for viewers to see the five amazing Freedom Kitchens come to life!

Looking back, it seems like only yesterday that we were working with the Blockheads to produce standout kitchens, however it’s actually been 3 years! Despite this, the kitchens that were delivered in 2018 and 2017 have stood the test of time – proving that good design, classic choices, and high-quality materials will lead to a kitchen that you will love for years.

Below, we take a look at the winning kitchens from The Block in 2017 and 2018, both of which scored perfect scores!

 2017 Josh & Elyse’s Kitchen.

Get the look

Josh & Elyse scored a perfect 10/10 for their contemporary take on a traditional Hampton style kitchen. The pair choose classic Shaker-style doors throughout the design, selecting a mixture of Sierra joinery in Classic White Matt and Cinder. Caesarstone® benchtops in Noble Grey add to the timeless look, with the central island bench featuring waterfall ends. Touch Catch handles kept the look sleek, seamless. and modern.

In a risky move that paid off, their island bench was oriented to face the garden rather than the living area, enhancing the feel of indoor-outdoor living. Another winning feature was their hidden butler’s pantry, perfect for hiding away mess, which was cleverly placed under a set of stairs. All in all, it was easy to see why the judges fell in love with this kitchen and the couple went on to win the series!

2018 Kerrie & Spence

Kerrie and Spence’s winning kitchen wowed the judges with their refined kitchen design with the timeless appeal of earthy tones and textures. With a neutral colour palette and a timeless layout, this kitchen incorporates a central stack of joinery in Burnished Wood, creating a seamless flow from the kitchen space to the butler’s pantry, which also features Moose Natural doors.

The generous island benchtop in Caesarstone’s® Airy Concrete is perfect for food preparation and entertaining, boasting a Gaggenau tabletop ventilation system for the cooktop which rises from the benchtop from within the “stone box”. This paired with the vast butler’s pantry that sits behind the kitchen ensure that this kitchen is an entertainers and home chef’s delight.
