Heartbreaking to Heartwarming Home Transformation Story
Stephanie Stevens’ husband, Ryan tragically died whilst she was four months pregnant with their first child and at the time the couple didn’t have a will. Due to complications arising from not having a will, Stephanie’s bank lost patience and foreclosed on her home, selling it for $70,000, less than what the couple had paid for it.
In order to put a roof over her new born son Ollie, Stephanie panic bought an unliveable home which had rising damp, asbestos and a leaking roof. Stephanie spoke to A Current Affair 8 months ago to highlight the importance of getting a will and the risks of not having one.
The story had touched many friends, family, organisations and some familiar face from The Block, to come to the rescue to help transform her home into a livable space for her son, giving Stephanie a fresh start. Freedom Kitchens were approached by A Current Affair to help with this home transformation, of course they jumped at the chance to be a part of the project.
With 14 days to fully renovate the whole house, Freedom Kitchens were inevitably on a strict timeline to help renovate the kitchen space. The ready to assemble Freedom Kitchens Essential Range was the perfect solution for the tight turnaround around time for the kitchen. Freedom Kitchens were able to fly the deconstructed Essential Range Kitchen across the country to WA, and install it quickly with the pre-drilled holes for the dowel construction, making the renovation process easy and achievable.
Without compromising on the quality of the kitchen for Stephanie, the Essential Range Kitchen comes with soft close drawers and doors, highly moisture resistant cabinetry and strong ABS edging to avoid chipping.
Stephanie’s kitchen with the addition of a new butler’s pantry and laundry was transformed using a modern Hamptons look and feel. To create the look, Essential Range Catherine Cabinetry was used, with a combination of the Shaker style and framed profile door in White Matt.
Unique Iron Cup Handles and a Caesarstone® Empira White benchtop complement the light palette cabinets nicely, enhancing the beautiful, contemporary Hamptons style kitchen. This timeless, sophisticated kitchen design is now the perfect setting to be the heart of the home for Stephanie and her son Ollie.
