Create a mood board for your new kitchen

Creating a moodboard is an exciting and effective part of design in any space in your home. From your kitchen, laundry, mudroom to your home office, a moodboard allows you to gather elements such as cabinetry, handles, hardware, benchtops, tiles, flooring, and window dressings to see how they will work all together to create your dream space.

Below we break down some of our favourite styles and share what Freedom Kitchens products you can select to create the look and colour palette you will love every day.

Mover & Shaker.

A Country or Coastal kitchen style allows for colour, texture, and beautiful personalised styling. Our timeless Sierra Shaker-profile doors form the perfect base when creating this look. Add depth and interest with detailed handles and tapware, embossed joinery such as Freedom Kitchens Perforated Metal White Matt door inserts, and marble-inspired benchtops.

Inject glamour with pops of metallics such as copper and rose gold, through your appliance and hardware selections. Embrace earthy tones and finishes such as timber, and cream or blush tones for subtle impact for an organic feel whilst connecting to nature.

Feeling blue has never looked so good! One of the hottest colours of the season (and for many years to come) blue will instantly lift your kitchen design. Our new Habitat door colour is the perfect shade if you want to create a Country or Coastal look. Layer with stainless steel or brass hardware for a hint of glamor, marble-look quartz countertops and warm timber features to bring the look to life.

Layer various cabinetry profiles for a look that stands out from the crowd. Our Vera panelled doors add a contemporary and on-trend look with its simple vertical lines for subtle pattern and form. Team with classic Shaker-look doors and timber-toned open shelving. Keep styling simple and neutral while embracing texture and natural fibres.

Country Luxe.

Warm, welcoming, and charming, a Country look is a wonderful aesthetic whether you’re based in a city or a rural location. Navy and brass tones are perfect for creating this palette in a luxe and modern way. Produce this style with our navy Sierra shaker-style doors in Oxford Matt with Patina Brass Mesh Inserts and pair with marble-look quartz benchtops and detailed brass-look hardware.

If navy is too bold for your taste, consider pairing or replacing it with a more neutral tone such as our Oyster Grey or Amaro Matt. Our Cora door is a contemporary take on the classic Shaker-style joinery, and a stylish cabinetry choice. Add styling notes of timber, brass with pops of red and pink.

Green Dream.

Calming and tranquil, joinery in our new shade Dry Sage will connect your kitchen with the colours of the Australian outdoors. The green-based door colour, layered with brass and timber accents along with marble-look benches will create a stunning Country-inspired kitchen. Add new feature Patina Brass Inserts within island bench drawers to create a stylish solution for breathable storage of fresh produce, or simply to add an eye-catching detail.

Break up banks of joinery with timber-look open shelves, creating beautiful zones for styling décor or displaying cookbooks or other pantry essentials. Vertical Broadline Glass within Shaker-look doors allow for a touch of pattern and glamour. Add LED Lighting within the cabinets to create silhouettes of items stored within. Complete the look with matte or brushed gold handles and accessories, classic white subway tiles along a splashback and organic décor.

Modern Edge.

Dark, sleek, and modern doesn’t need to be cold when you layer materials in black, dark timber looks and concrete tones. Add copper finishes to create a space that will tug at the heartstrings with its warmth. Recreate this dark and tonal scheme with a blend of our new Blackened Legno Chalk flat joinery, Black Anodised Lip Pull handles, and Caesarstone® Rugged Concrete quartz.

Bring texture, shape, and pattern to your design with decorative hardware such as handles and tapware. Open shelving will create opportunities to inject your personality and colour to the room, while the inclusion of glass inserts, integrated appliances and sleek matte black handles will keep the space feeling open and light.
