Homeowners Aidan and Lizzy have transformed their tiny 1960s U-shaped kitchen into a large, open and light-filled oasis with butler’s pantry and an adjoining laundry space. This particular transformation was extra special as Aidan and wife Lizzy were creating their dream family home for themselves and their four young children.
The Renovation.
What was once a tiny two and a half bedroom brick townhouse, is now a brand new, contemporary home that really makes a design statement. The kitchen was central to the transformation. ‘Our whole house was really designed around kitchen, explains Aidan. ‘It’s a real family kitchen – we’re in it together all the time’.
They have created a modern Hamptons feel by using Freedom Kitchens shaker style Sierra White Matt and Black cabinetry, Volpato handles, timber doors and oak flooring. In the heart of the space is a stunning Caesarstone® island benchtop in Statuario Maximus that is more than 3.6 metres long- easily ensuring that the family can meet together as well as entertain.
It’s also the finer details that stand out to Aidan & Lizzy, such as the white shaker style cabinetry paired with the black shaker door on the Island benchtop with the marble inspired Caesarstone® 40mm Statuario Maximus benchtop. This modern take on the Hamptons style kitchen is a family winner.
The Butler’s Pantry.
The butler’s pantry is another highlight, a luxurious addition that offers more storage, vital for this family of six. ‘We’ve never had a pantry before, so having a butler’s pantry is pretty incredible, says Lizzy. ‘There’s just so much storage and so much room’. Aidan adds that their family has a number of dietary requirements that they need to cater for and the butler’s pantry has allowed them to plan and organise for this, ensuring that this space is both beautiful and functional.
The Laundry.
Their new laundry features Sierra White Matt cabinetry, separate linen cupboards and two laundry hampers. The laundry hampers are Aidan and Lizzy’s favourite feature as they are perfect for hiding dirty laundry from view. Offering a plethora of storage options, sink and tap and a 3 metre long Airy Concrete top from Caesarstone® perfect for folding laundry, this space completes their homes amazing transformation.
