When it comes to designing kids bedroom wardrobes that are equal parts stylish and practical, The Block 2025 contestants delivered in spades this week! From stylish wardrobe doors, to clever wardrobe ideas, integrated lighting, and standout handles, each bedroom showcased how Freedom Wardrobes can bring both beauty and functionality to everyday spaces. Whether designed for guests, children, or growing families, these built-in wardrobes go beyond simple wardrobe storage- reflecting the personality of each home while maximising usability.

House 1: Emma & Ben

Place: 2nd

Emma and Ben have created two beautifully cohesive built-in wardrobes for their children-focused bedrooms, each highlighting a sophisticated use of texture, tone, and practical design. One robe (below left) has been designed with a teenage boy in mind, featuring new Dove Leather Touch doors, paired with bold Ova Ebony Timber handles and Umber Woodmatt internals, offering generous storage through a combination of soft-close drawers, shelving, and hanging space—all illuminated by Häfele’s Warm White Bar lights. “I’m instantly struck by the depth of colour”, said Shaynna. “They’ve really gone heavy in detail and energy in here.” 

Their second wardrobe, designed for a younger girl, introduces soft, neutral Savannah Clay Natural doors, again paired with Umber Woodmatt internals, and finished with Ebony Stained American Oak Wave Timber handles that add an organic feel. A built-in desk zone in matching Umber Woodmatt completes the look, tying the space together with warmth, contrast, and timeless appeal. “This feels great! This is a lot softer. A lot more Daylesford,” said Marty. “Love the double beds, the colour…there’s a richness to the room.”

Fresh off their challenge win, Han and Can have delivered two standout Freedom Wardrobe designs that balance style, function, and thoughtful detail in their two stunning children’s bedrooms. In the first nursery-inspired space, Sugarcane Natural wardrobe doors are paired with warm Nordic Oak Woodmatt internals and curvaceous Ova Brushed Brass handles, creating a calming and elegant aesthetic. The wardrobe offers a practical mix of soft-close drawers, open shelving, and hanging space—perfectly lit by Häfele’s sensor-activated Warm White Bar Lights. While Shaynna noted that the styling of the room needs to be edited, she also said that the colour palette of the room is excellent and very sophisticated.  

Heading next door to their playful and colourful children’s room, Bianco Satin doors provide a crisp contrast to the vibrant palette, once again elevated by Brushed Brass Ova handles and Nordic Oak Woodmatt interiors. An integrated desk zone adds functionality, ideal for study, work, or play, while generous storage ensures the space grows with its young user. Both wardrobes blend timeless design with everyday usability, showcasing Han and Can’s thoughtful approach to multi-purpose bedroom spaces. Marty was quick to mention that he thought the pair have a real eye for colour and layering, and the design choices were great.

Winners of this week, Britt and Taz impressed the judges with a cohesive and timeless wardrobe design used in both their rooms. Their built-in wardrobes showcase the warm, creamy tones of Pale Almond Natural doors paired with rustic Nordic Oak Woodmatt internals, creating a soft yet inviting look that effortlessly complements the rest of their bedroom palette. Sculptural Clear American Oak Wave Timber handles add organic texture and contrast, while Häfele sensor-activated Warm White Bar Lights bring both functionality and a touch of luxury to the interiors.

Thoughtfully designed storage includes full and half-height hanging space, soft-close drawers, and open shelving—some of which is beautifully exposed at the side of the robe, offering the perfect spot to style personal items and introduce colour or décor to the space. The result is a well-deserved win for a design that balances beauty, practicality, and timeless appeal.

The judges adored both rooms, commending Britt and Taz for creating two spaces that balanced a Modern Country aesthetic with whimsy and fun – perfect elements for children’s bedrooms!

Inspired by their own 3 children, Sonny and Alicia delivered thoughtful, charming wardrobes for both their bedrooms this week, blending style, warmth, and practicality. The couple’s teenage girl’s bedroom was praised for its thoughtful use of colour, with soft pink walls paired with a playful pink plaid wallpaper. The wardrobe with an integrated desk complemented the look, combining warm Nordic Oak Woodmatt wardrobe doors with crisp Bianco Satin White interiors. Statement-making Flute Pink Copper handles add a playful pop of colour, while clever storage—featuring soft-close drawers, open shelving, and hanging space—ensures functionality.

For their country-inspired boys’ room, the pair introduced Palladian Blue wardrobe doors, a striking new hue in the Freedom Wardrobes collection that brings freshness and depth to the space. Inside, Warm Textile inserts offer tactile contrast, complemented by Flute Lake Green handles for a clean, contemporary finish. “The use of colour is divine in both rooms, and I think that’s worth mentioning for them, said Shaynna. “Because that’s something that we asked for and they’ve delivered!”

Best mates Robby and Mat have delivered two thoughtfully designed wardrobes that perfectly complement the style and purpose of their children’s bedrooms. In their first room, a whimsical yet calming vibe is brought to life with Spring Dust Green wardrobe doors—a soft, muted green that adds a gentle pop of colour and reflects the rejuvenating tones of spring. Matching Chocco Bronzed Knurled Bar handles and Nordic Oak Woodmatt interiors maintain visual continuity, while ample internal storage and an integrated desk make the space equally functional for play, study, and everyday organisation. Simple, stylish, and full of personality, these robes show Robby and Mat’s knack for design that’s both practical and inspiring.

“I love vibrancy”, said Shaynna. “I love the sense of fun!” Marty agreed, and enjoyed seeing the period details in the room, noting it felt very country and cosy.  

Stepping into the warm and neutral bedroom which they designed for a teenager, the boys opted for a timeless look using new Dove Leather Touch wardrobe doors, paired with elegant Chocco Bronzed Knurled Bar handles and Nordic Oak Woodmatt internals. Storage is abundant across three banks of cabinetry, offering a practical mix of half and full hanging space, soft-close drawers, and open shelving—all enhanced by Häfele sensor-activated Warm White Bar Lights. While the room itself gave “high-end retirement village realness”, the closet provided much-needed sophistication and storage.
