Two very distinct design periods were the inspiration for the Reno Rumble kitchens this week. Both stunning in design, let’s take a look at how they each pulled these on-brief designs together.
Carly & Leighton transformed a tiny kitchen space into an open plan and timeless classic with a hint of artdeco – a nod to the original character of the home.
The colour palette of Alaskan Gloss Graphite and Pearl Metallic cabinetry is complemented the Caesarstone® benchtops in Raw Concrete and the geometric marble tile splashback. Internal drawers and pull-outs make storage a breeze, whilst ambient lighting and the built-in wine fridges within the central island bench complete the entertainer’s dream.
Homeowner Alice says that being open plan, the kitchen is the centre point of their home, “We spend a lot of time cooking there. It’s contemporary with some retro touches, and we love how it connects so well with the rest of the house.”
Josh and Jenna have answered the design brief of a mid-century modern kitchen that works in today’s modern environment.
The strong sense of timber-grain cabinetry is bang on brief and accentuated by the seamless integration of the appliances. Open display shelving and tiled splashback provide an opportunity to bring in contrasting colour whilst storage is maximised with pull-out pantries and deep, soft close drawers. This is a high-end look that is stunning in its simplicity.
