Freedom Kitchens: Tallebudgera, Queensland
Freedom Kitchens recently teamed up with The Block judge and acclaimed interior designer, Darren Palmer, to create a series of amazing rooms within Your Town’s grand home in Tallebudgera, a suburb within the Gold Coast in Queensland. The proceeds from the raffled home helps raise money for children and families in need. The Freedom Kitchen, laundry, home office and wardrobes transform the home into an extraordinary space that feels like a luxurious coastal retreat.

The kitchen.
The grand kitchen sets the tone for the entire home, celebrating a sophisticated Coastal meets Modern Country look, showcasing Freedom Kitchens’s new 40mm Shaker-profile Sierra IV doors in Coastal Oak throughout. Connecting the dining and living spaces as well as the outdoor deck, which leads to a swimming pool, everything has been considered within the room, including a butler’s pantry concealed by a large barn door.
Style and storage are offered within the kitchen in spades. The generous kitchen island bench is at the heart of the space, measuring 3.8 meters long by 1.4 meters wide. Topped in Caesarstone Fresh Concrete quartz, it can comfortably seat up to ten people! It also offers numerous soft-close drawers and a practical ‘cleaning zone’ consisting of an integrated dishwasher, Ninka bins and a sink and tap. Behind the island, an impressive bank of Broadline Vertical Glass shelves provides the perfect place to store glassware and dinnerware. Lit within by Warm LED Downlights, Strip LED lighting also runs below the cabinetry to highlight the area.
Perfect for cooking and entertaining, the L-shaped kitchen also features an impressive cooktop and oven framed by integrated fridges, freezers, and Hafele Tandem Pantries. Other storage accessories such as a Hafele Cooking Unit by the stove, Cutlery Trays, plus Inner Drawers to double the amount of organisation space, as well as the butler’s pantry, which contains another oven, microwave, sink and tap, dishwasher, bin and a Le Mans Corner Pull Out Corner System.

The laundry.
Awash with natural light, a light grey, timber and brass palette and a wealth of storage, this laundry room makes light work of washing day! The galley-style room maximises the amount that can be stored and organised within the space, including a bank of tall cabinetry in Sierra IV Oyster Grey which features a broom cupboard, adjustable shelving and two Deep Drawers. Solid Brass Bar and Knob handles in Brushed Satin add a pop of glamour.
However, it’s opposite the tall cabinets where the real action happens. The appliances, a Miele washer and dryer, have been placed side by side for easy use. This design decision also allows for a 3-metre Caesarstone benchtop in Airy Concrete, providing plenty of space for a sink and tap and ample folding space. Open shelves in Freedom Kitchens’ Coastal Oak add warmth and perfect styling zones. Hidden behind the joinery, two Laundry Wire Pull Out Baskets make storing clothes a breeze and are just another thoughtful inclusion within the space that makes it a joy to use.

The home office.
Another fantastic addition to a modern family home, the dedicated home office is the perfect place to work and study. With a capacity for up to four people, it’s an excellent solution for a small business set-up or a family where the parents are working from home and/or children require a space to study away from the noise of the rest of the house.
The grey, timber and brass colour scheme is in keeping with the rest of the house, with Shaker-style Sierra IV joinery in Oyster Grey paired with Solid Brass Knob handles Brushed Satin Brass. Freedom Kitchens Natural Halifax Oak Streamline laminate desktops complement the colour palette and are an easy-to-clean and maintain option that mimics the look and texture of natural timber. Plenty of soft-close drawers provide a wealth of storage, and cable outlets have been cut into the desktops so that phones, computers and printers can be connected at all times without the cables exposed.
Master wardrobe.
Wardrobe storage abounds within the primary suite. The bedroom itself showcases a stunning hinged wardrobe design featuring striking Shaker-style Somersby Stone Grey exterior doors and brass handles that open to reveal Italian Cotton interiors. Illuminated with our premium Verti-Strip LED lighting, the wardrobe offers hanging space, open shelves and soft-close drawers.
Beyond the bedroom itself, a walk-in wardrobe provides even more storage! Open cabinetry in Italian Cotton gives the robe a sense of space and, again, is lit by Verti-Strip LED lighting. The organisation of clothing, shoes and accessories are a breeze thanks to a clever combination of full and half hanging space, drawers and open shelving. A makeup station adds to the luxurious nature of the area; the Natural Halifax Oak Streamline laminate desk and Hafele Mirror complementing the coastal palette found throughout the rest of the home.
